Liberation from the Umbrellas

A critical and existential project that explores the suffocating ideological and partisan structures in Gaza’s closed society. The umbrella was used as a central visual metaphor to critique imposed identities and false shelters. Each painting addressed different forms of ideological constraints or the attempt to escape them—umbrellas that were heavy, inverted, or engulfed in darkness—inviting liberation through art.
